Buying DOT SMS Tickets

You can buy DOT SMS Tickets for travel throughout Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn. When you buy a DOT SMS ticket, the payment is added to your telephone bill. You can purchase up to 8 zones.

Note: This service only works with a Danish subscription.

How to order a DOT SMS ticket for 2-8 zones

1. Send a text to 1415 with the following information:

  • Starting zone, station or bus stop
  • Number of zones
  • Ticket type (Voksen, Barn, Hund - or v, b, h). If you do not specify the customer type, we will automatically assume that you want an adult ticket.

Examples:
Adult ticket for 2 zones from Kongens Nytorv: Text "Kongens Nytorv 2 v" or ”1 2
Child ticket for 4 zones from zone 30: Text "30 4 barn" or "30 4 b"
Dog ticket for 3 zones from Nørreport Station: Text "Nørreport st. 3 hund“ or “1 3 h

If the station or bus stop has multiple zones, you can separate them the following way: "88/98/99" or "88-98-99" or "88,98,99"

2. You will now receive an SMS with a confirmation of your order. This is not your ticket. You must confirm the order with JA within 1 minute to complete the purchase. If you want to cancel the purchase, simply answer STOP within 1 minute.

Your phone number will be blocked for any future DOT SMS ticket purchases, if you repeatedly fail to complete purchases.

3. You will receive the ticket as a new text message.

Remember: The ticket is only valid once you have received it on your mobile device.

Forwarding a mobile ticket is illegal

The DOT SMS ticket is valid only on the mobile number for  which it was purchased. It is illegal to alter, copy, or forward mobile tickets. Forwarding a mobile ticket is considered forgery and will be reported to the police.

If you want to buy DOT SMS tickets for more than one person, the tickets must be bought individually.

It is not possible to order the second ticket until you have received the first.

The ticket must be bought in the departure zone and received on your mobile device before you enter the bus, train or metro. If you have not received your DOT SMS ticket within a few minutes, you need to order a new ticket or buy it elsewhere, for instance in DOT Tickets app, ticket vending machines, with the bus driver or serviced sale.

Where can I find my start zone?

You can get help to find your start zone here.

If you travel from a bus stop, you can enter the bus stop number instead of the start zone.

You can find the bus stop number on the information board at the stops. Before the stop number, always enter an S, for example "S552" in the SMS message.

If you order a ticket from a station, then add "st" to the name, for example "Vesterport st".

If you enter a street name of a bus stop instead the start zone or bus stop number (e.g. "Nygade"), and there are several hits for "Nygade" on Zealand and the islands, then you will be asked to choose between the zone fare areas where "Nygade" is represented.

Exceptions from purchasing DOT SMS Tickets

The following mobile subscriptions cannot purchase mobile tickets via the telephone bill:

  • Mobile phone numbers with international subscriptions (country codes other than +45)
  • Mobile phone numbers blocked for mobile purchases (Premium SMS)
  • Mobile phones with Telia prepaid calling cards. Some smaller telecom operators may also be exempt (check with the company).
  • Prepaid calling cards with a balance below the amount of the cost of the ticket.

Blocking ticket purchases

The traffic companies can block your mobile phone number from purchasing DOT SMS Tickets if there is a justified suspicion of abuse or attempted abuse.

Abuse of the system can e.g. be multiple orders that are not confirmed, purchases after boarding, forwarding of tickets or the like. Blocked customers will still be able to buy mobile tickets in the DOT Tickets app, vending machines and with Rejsekort. However, in case of systematic abuse or abuse of a particularly serious nature, customers' mobile phone numbers can also be blocked for purchases in the DOT Tickets app.

Complaints about blocking can be addressed to the DOT Customer Center.
