Bring your pet on the bus, train and metro

Bring small dogs and other small pets free of charge, but only if they during the entire journey can be kept in a bag or cage. Dogs on a leash or in a wagon must have their own ticket, but are not always allowed on the bus.

Guide or service dog

Pets are welcome in the rear section of the bus.

 

Dogs on a leash or in a wagon are not allowed on Movia buses in zones 1-4, 30-33 and 40-44 during rush hour (7.00-9.00 and 15.30-17.30)

On the train

Some trains have designated sections for pets. Keep an eye out for pictograms indicating where you can place your pet.

When travelling with your dog on a leash or in a wagon on InterCity or InterCityLyn, the dog must have its own Seat Reservation Ticket. It must remain on the floor throughout the journey.

Pets are not allowed on DSB 1' and in the quiet zone. Guide/service dogs are, however, allowed on DSB 1'.

The staff on the train who assess whether the rules have been complied with, their instructions must always be followed.

In the metro

If you bring your dog on the metro, please avoid the first and last six seats of the train, which are reserved for people with allergies.

How to buy a ticket for your dog

Dogs on a leash or in a wagon must have their own ticket. A ticket for a dog is equivalent to a child's ticket. It costs approximately half of a regular adult ticket.

In DOT Tickets app

In the DOT Tickets app, you can purchase a child ticket for your dog and pay for it using your credit card or MobilePay.

In the Rejsebillet app

Buy a Child Ticket for your dog in the app, use Credit Card or MobilePay.

Via SMS

Send an SMS to 1415 with your starting zone followed by 'H' (for 'hund' in Danish). You will receive the ticket via SMS and pay through your phone bill.

From ticket machine

Buy a ticket for your dog from the ticket machines at all train and metro stations as well as local railway stations in West and South Zealand.

On the bus

Purchase a ticket for your dog in cash from the bus driver if you do not check it in using your Rejsekort.

On Rejsekort

Check in your dog at the Rejsekort reader or the check-in extra card reader at the station.

Your dog can have its own Rejsekort

You can check in your large dog by using your Rejsekort at a check-in extra card reader. If you often travel with your dog, you can purchase a Rejsekort Flex for your dog at rejsekort.dk. This way, you do not have to check in your dog using your own Rejsekort every time.
