Bring Bicycles and scooters on bus, train, and metro

What can I bring?
The staff will assess if there is space for your bicycle or scooter. Folded bicycles and scooters must remain folded throughout the journey and are considered equivalent to a regular-sized bicycle if they cannot fit within the dimensions of 30x60x100 cm.

Folded bicyles
If the bicycle fits within the dimensions of 30x60x100 cm, you can bring it with you for free.
Scooter
If your scooter fits within the dimensions of 30x60x100, you can bring it with you for free.
Children’s bicycle
You can bring a children's bicycle for free if the dimensions of the bike are under 30x60x100.
Electric bicycles
The staff will assess if there is space for your electric bicycle; the same rules apply as for regular bicycles. Please also tjeck to the rules for Larger bicycles
Larger bicycle
You cannot bring trailers, cargo bikes, long johns, fat bikes, tandem bicycles, and other large bikes or large electric bicycles.
Segways and similar
You are not allowed to bring Segways or similar vehicles. Gasoline-powered vehicles are also not permitted.
Need to bring your bicycle or scooter?
You can bring your bicycle for free on Movia's buses across Zealand, Lolland-Falster, and Møn. The bicycle (or your electric scooter) should be placed in the middle of the bus and secured with a seatbelt. Typically, there is space for two bicycles in the bus, which share the area with wheelchairs, strollers, and large scooters. If you boarded first, you have priority for the space, but it is always the bus driver who determines if there is room for more.
However, it's not possible to bring your bicycle or scooter on:
- Lines 1-100 and all S-buses during rush hours. Rush hours are Monday to Friday from 07:00-09:00 and 15:30-17:30. Please be aware that even if you board before rush hour, it's not allowed to complete your journey with a bicycle/electric scooter during rush hours.
- Night buses and lines 1A, 2A, 4A, 5C, 6A, 7A, and 9A on Friday and Saturday nights from 00:30-04:30. On all other lines, you are allowed to bring a bicycle or electric scooter at night.
- Minibuses measuring less than 12 meters do not accommodate bicycles or electric scooters. This may apply to lines 71, 72, 74, 77, 78, 151, 152, 196, 197, 198, 199, 243, 386, 499, 513, 561, 562, 563, 565, 566, 571, 572, 585, 586, 712, 721, 724, 751, 752, 755, 760, 761, 762, 771, 772, 773, 774, 778, 791, 792, 834, 835, 847, 848, 851, and 875.
It is always free to bring a bicycle or a larger scooter on the harbor bus.
It is always free to bring a bicycle or a larger scooter on the S-train. However, it's important to note that you cannot board or disembark with a bicycle or larger scooter at Nørreport Station between 7am and 9am and between 3:30pm and 5:30pm on weekdays.
If your S-train is replaced by a replacement bus service, unfortunately, you cannot bring your bicycle with you.
You are allowed to bring your bicycle or a larger scooter on the metro, except on weekdays between 7am and 9am and between 3:30pm and 5:30pm.
When you have a bicycle or a larger scooter with you on the metro, it must have a bicycle ticket. You can purchase the bicycle ticket, for example, in the DOT Tickets app or on your travel card by checking in at the extra card reader at the station.
If your metro line is replaced by a train bus, unfortunately, you cannot bring your bicycle with you.
You can always bring bicycles and larger scooters on regional trains, InterCity trains, InterCity Lyn, Lyn+, and Øresundstog. However, they need to have a Bicycle Seat Reservation ticket, which you can purchase through the DSB App.
Scooters must fit within the dimensions of 60x30x115 cm. If the scooter is larger, it will require a Bicycle Seat Reservation ticket. DSB Cykelpladsbillet.
If your S-train is replaced by a replacement bus service, unfortunately, you cannot bring your bicycle with you.
It is always free to bring a bicycle or a larger scooter on all local trains.
If your local train is replaced by a bus, only a very limited number of bicycles can be accommodated.
You may not bring your bicycle on a replacement bus service, but you can get a refund for the Bicycle Seat Reservation ticket for the portion of the journey that involves a replacement bus.
