Travel Guarantee for buses and local trains
Here you will find the rules for travel guarantees for busses and local trains. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on +45 7015 7000.
You are eligible for the travel guarantee in the following situations:
- If one of Movia’s buses or local trains is more than 20 minutes late.
- If the bus drove past you, even though you were at the stop and visible to the driver.
- If you pressed the ‘stop’ button at the station in advance and the train did not stop.
In these situations you can take a taxi and Movia will reimburse you up to DKK 300 on your taxi bill.
Apply for Travel Guarantee for buses and local trains
You pay for your taxi ride. Remember to get a receipt, which you will need to attach to your application.
Then apply by filling out the form found on this page under "Apply for Travel Guarantee". You can also send your application by letter, see below on this page.
Movia must receive the application form together with attached photo/scan of the taxi receipt no later than 14 days after the incident, otherwise we cannot process the application. We refund up to DKK 300 per taxi, no matter how many people share the taxi. The refund will be issued 7-14 days after we have received your application. Below you find the rules for the travel guarantee.
A ‘taxi’ means driving performed according to the terms of the taxi legislation (including the law on commercial passenger transport).
The travel guarantee is valid in case of:
- If the bus or local train is more than 20 min. delayed.
- If the bus drove past the stop without stopping, even though you were at the stop on time and visible to the driver – and if there was at least 20 min. until the next departure.
- If you pressed the ‘stop’ button at the station in good time and the train did not stop – and if there was at least 20 min. until the next departure.
- If the local train does not stop at the station although you pressed the ‘stop’ button in the train in advance.
- If the bus or local train runs more than 2 minutes ahead of time – and there is at least 20 min. to the next departure.
- Only for the part of the trip where it was planned to use Movia’s buses or local trains.
- From stop to stop/station or from station to station/stop on the given bus- or local train route.
The travel guarantee is not valid in case of:
- Planned bus changes announced on dinoffentligetransport.dk no later than 24 hours before.
- Planned changes to train operations announced on lokaltog.dk no later than 24 hours before.
- Lost connections to other buses or trains. For example, if a delay on one bus causes you to arrive late for your next bus.
- Other costs as a result of the delay; for example, flight, train or theatre tickets.
- Work stoppages.
- When weather conditions mean that Movia cannot comply with the timetable.
- Travel with Flextrafik.
- Force majeure (such as war, terrorism or natural disaster)
Note: If you receive a message from Rejseplanen (Journey Planner) that the bus or the local train is more than 20 minutes delayed, you cannot automatically take a taxi at Movia’s expense. The bus/local train may well make up the time so that it arrives at your stop/station with, for example, only a 17-minute delay.
