About DOT

DOT is short for Din Offentlige Transport and is a collaboration between the public transport operators DSB, Movia and The Copenhagen Metro to create better and more coherent public transport on Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn.

DOT makes it more simple for you as a customer, since DOT has gathered customer service, traffic information, prices and tickets, communication and marketing all in one. You have just one entryway to public transport on all of Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn, where you can find information, seek help or buy tickets for the bus, train and metro.

Many of DOT’s initiatives are visible to the passengers in the public space, while other activities are carried out internally within the transport companies and benefit the passengers indirectly. For example in the form of improved coordination across the companies, which enables more accurate and relevant traffic information.

Examples of DOT activities

DOT conducts ongoing activities that improve conditions for passengers using public transport. The focus is on both new activities and ongoing improvements to existing initiatives.

Examples of DOT initiatives include:

  • The establishment of the website dinoffentligetransport.dk, which provides a common entryway to public transport on Zealand, Lolland, Falster og Møn where passengers can find information and answers, search for transport options and much more.
  • The establishment og the DOT Facebook page which also constitutes a common interface for public transport, where users have the opportunity to ask questions about public transport as a whole.
  • Development and maintenance of a joint traffic information concept where DSB, Movia and The Copenhagen Metro have agreed on a common use of language and display of traffic information on signs and information displays, that are easy and quick for passengers to understand and decode.
  • Setting up signs and information displays at traffic hubs that make it easier for passengers to switch between bus, train and metro.
  • Establishment of cross-organisational traffic information platform that systematises information sharing between the companies’ traffic information departments, and which enables information on connections with other modes of transport.
  • Development and maintenance of the DOT Tickets app for the purchase and renewal of tickets and commuter cards.
  • Development of joint travel regulations across modes of transport.
  • Development of a visual identity for DOT that contributes to passengers having a uniform communication standard regardless of whether it is information about the bus, train or metro.
